Hi, I'm alba.

This is the first iteration of 8bang. Let's call it V.0.1. I'm trying out HTML coding for the first time in many, many years.

8bang is a combination of letters and a number. It has the chance to become more than that, but presently, that's all that it is.

I'm still figuring things out since I joined in May 2026. I want to get better at coding so I can make a website that feels like home. I've always been someone who enjoys exploring the virtual world and I'm at a point where I'd like to carve out a little corner of my own. Like many of the people who are sharing themselves here, I'm not really comfortable with where social media has gone. I want out of social media but I've been online since the 2000s. Nostalgic for a time and space that I'm not sure exists anymore. Not ready to let go, but in need of something more.

It seems nice here. A refuge from the mainstream. So please, call me alba.

I suppose that I'm a nostalgic person! I've always been someone who daydreams. My mum said I would trip staring at the clouds as a child.

This is to be a space where I can be creative, share my thoughts and sense of self, but also where I can have a little bit of privacy. I want to build a digital diary where I can just exist, grow and explore without being bombarded by adverts. I hope I can do a good job.

Made a page for quiz results. Followed some profiles for the first time. Played with the 'About' page again.

Updated 'Page Not Found'. Experimented with more css/html by looking at templates. Added some links. Made a start on 'Film' and 'About' pages.

Created Neocities account. Made my first ever website?! Created a basic landing page and link to main homepage.
